# 43 -Code: DD "Dumb Dog" Preachers Color: gold
In the Bible the word "dog" was a term of insult. (Eccl.9:4, 1 Sa.17:43; 2 Sam.3:8; 16:19) In the New Testament, opponents to the true faith are compared to dogs. (Mat.7:6; Php.3:2) So when God calls some watchmen or preachers, "Dumb Dogs!" it must be a very serious charge! Why would He do that? History will repeat itself and when you see these kind of preachers taking leadership positions in the churches you will know that it is another sign of the last days of earth's history and that Jesus will soon come.
1. Isa.56:10-11 - What is wrong with God's watchmen preachers?
--- What is it these same shepherd preachers cannot do?
Isa.56:10. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
--- The context of this prophecy (verses 1-2) applies it to the time when
salvation is near and Jesus will soon return to earth.
( 1 ..I am coming
soon to rescue you. 2 Blessed is the man who refuses to work during my Sabbath
days of rest, but honors them...) It is a
reformation call to observe the Sabbath and to keep all of God's commandments.
--- Why can't the Shepherds understand? - Answer: Isa.29:10-13 tells us that the visions are like sealed books to these leaders because they have removed their heart from God! "They worship me in vain, their teachings are but rules taught by men." (v.13 Hebrew: Sept. NIV)
--- Jesus quoted this prophecy and applied it to spiritual leaders of his day who put traditional rules above the 5th commandment! (Mat.15:8-9) Today Jesus would rebuke preachers for exalting the Sunday tradition above the 4th Commandment. This is why they can't seem to understand the visions of Daniel, or the book of Revelation.
2. Isa.30:8-11,13,30 - What would a future generation refuse to hear?
Isa.30:8. Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever: 9. That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:
10. Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
--- Paul also predicted that many "Dumb Dog" preachers would teach only smooth things in order to please the people. (see 2 Tim.4:3-4)
--- Will their "smooth" doctrine (counterfeit Decalogue) wall, be able to stop the swelling flood of iniquity?
Isaiah 30:13 NIV -- this sin will become for you like a high wall,
cracked and bulging, that collapses
suddenly, in an instant. 14 It will
break in pieces like pottery, shattered so mercilessly that among its
pieces not a fragment will be found ...30. The LORD will cause men to hear
his majestic voice and will make them see his arm coming down with raging anger
and consuming fire, with cloudburst,
thunderstorm and hail.
--- The final crash comes with great hailstones, the
last part of the 7 Last Plagues just before Jesus returns.
3. Ezek.13:4-6,10-15 - What are these "Dumb Dog" false prophets like?
Ezek.13:4. O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
5. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. 6. They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
--- They avoid the truth and jump from one hole of evasion to another. They claim the Lord has changed the Sabbath when the Lord has said no such thing! How do the false teachers try to seduce God's people?
10. Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered mortar: 11. Say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower;...great hailstones shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.....15. Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered mortar, and will say..., The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it:
--- These wreckers of God's laws have done violence to His Sabbath. They are the Builders and Daubers of another counterfeit wall that will not stand! One group builds up a counterfeit wall and another group tries to prop it up with untempered mortar. This mortar represents the lies and excuses for observing traditions like Sunday instead of God's true laws like the Sabbath Lord's day. Spiritual leaders pawning off traditions for truth are confusing thousands of people.
4. Ezek.22:8,30-31 What have the spiritual leaders profaned?
Ezek.22:8. Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths. 30. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 31. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads,...
--- The Sabbath, broken out of the law, is like a hole in the dike; like a gap in the hedge, and like a break in the wall! God can't seem to find anyone to plug up the hole. Although another prophecy tells that there will be a small minority or remnant group that will try and they will be called, "the repairer of the breach"! They are the ones that "call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him". They gladly forsake their own selfish pleasures and traditions in order to please their Lord. & -(read Isa.58:12-13)
Think about it. There will be only two classes of teachers. Those who delight in the Sabbath and all of God's commandments, and those who despise one or more of God's true doctrines. Consider them as two different walls: ---
