| The Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. --- For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: -- Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. - Mat.12:8; Col.1:16; Mk.2:28. --- Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. -Ezek.20:12 | ![]() |
| If you keep the Sabbath holy, not having
your own fun and business on that day, but enjoying the Sabbath and
speaking of it with delight as the Lord's holy day, and honoring the Lord
in what you do, not following your own desires and pleasure, nor talking
idly--then the Lord will be your delight, and I will see to it that you
ride high, and get your full share of the blessings... The Lord has
spoken. -- For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these
words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." There
remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters
God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.
Isa.58:13-14LB; Heb.4:4,9-10NIV. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.-Ps.118:24; |
